“Typenko” round side / coffee table

Iconic side/coffee table from the “Typenko” collection by Axel Einar Hjorth (1888-1959) for Nordiska Kompaniet, having a round top and pedestal in stained birch on a steel disk base; Sweden, 1931; maker’s metal tag numbered “RS611061235.” The pinwheeling grain on the top is a rare variation for this model (c.f.: Björk, Ekström and Erikson, Axel Einar Hjorth: Möbelarkitekt, Stockholm, Signum 2009, pg. 123)
