Iconic rectangular coffee table model designed by Jean Royère (1902-1981), having the designer’s “Ruban” (ribbon) motif for legs, each comprised of two mirrored wave form iron straps connected by brass spheres, set perpendicular to to the corners of the table and connected at diagonals by slender stretchers; frame in painted wrought iron with brass, travertine top, France, 1950s

The delicate “Ruban” legs have a playful gravity-defying effect in this elegantly lyrical model. This is the longer of the two size variations in which it was made. Excellent condition.
