Rustically textured table lamp from the “Rubus” series by Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) for Rörstrand Fabriks, with a raked cylindrical form with chamfered at its foot and extending with a sliender neck atop, in stoneware, tinted a pale gray, carved with a pattern of hatches in shifting directions, and glazed in a burnt umber brown that flows during firing, receding and pooling as guided by the surface carving, resulting in a richly textured finish evocative of nature (bark, antler, stone…) Sweden, mid-20th century; incised artist cipher and maker mark
