Gallery BAC pricot glass three-quarter-cylinder diffusers, with carved fluting and flame motifs

Exceptional pair of sconces in apricot glass by Edward Hald for Orrefors (attrib.)

Truly exceptional pair of sconces almost certainly by Nils Tove Edward Hald (1883-1980) for Orrefors Glasbruk, a marvelous example of the Modern Classicism / Swedish Grace style, the pair is incredibly considered in design and craftsmanship, each consisting of apricot glass three-quarter-cylinder diffusers, with carved fluting and flame motifs, that fit perfectly on custom nickel plated mounts with oval plates and L-shaped brackets, Sweden, 1920s. (The attention to detail is present in every aspect of the sconces–even the zig-zag teeth on the mounts that cradle the diffusers on the bottom are subtly gauged to become larger in the center to create a sense of focus and drama)
